Beware of hypocrisy: Luke 12 v 1-3

A vast audience that had gathered to hear Christ preach. These teachers of the law and Pharisees tried
to accuse him, but the people were still amazed at him, they were with him and honored him. The more the Pharisees tried to drive people away from Christ, the bigger the crowd that flocked to him. He said to his disciple first af all. These  were his special responsibility, and so he warned them particularly as his beloved sons(1Co 4:14); they made a greater profession of religious faith than the others, and hyprocrisy in that was the sin they were most in danger of. Hypocrisy would be worse
in them than in others. Christ disciples were, for all we know, the best men in the world, but even they needed to be warned against hypocrisy.

The discription of the sin that he warned them against: It is the leaven of the Pharisees.
  • It is leaven (yeast); it spread like yeast, insinuating itself into the whole being, into all that a person does; it swells and sour like leaven, puffing people up with pride and thereby making them with malice and making their service unacceptable to God.
  • It is the leaven of the Pharisees:" It is the sin that most of them fall into. Be on your guard about imitating them"
  • A good reason against it;"  For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed(v2-3). Sooner or later the truth will come out. If you speak in darkness what does not benefit you and your public profession, it shall be heard in the light; some way or other it will be made manifest."  If people's religious faith is not effective in conquering and healing the evil of their hearts, nonetheless, it will not serve as a cloak forever. The day is coming when hypocrites will be stripped of their fig leaves( Gene 3;7).

Have a blessed week.

Spiritual Armor

Rom 13:12. The night is nearly over, the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

2Cor 6:7. In truthful speech and in the power of God;with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left hand

Eph 6:11. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

1Th5:8. But since we belong to the day, let us be self controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as helmet.

Be blessed as you read.

But is passed from death to life

Scripture reading: John 5 : 24,25,29,39&43( King James version).
24. Verily, verily, I say unto you.He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,have everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation;but is passed from death unto life.
25. Verily, verily, I say unto you. The hour is coming and now is,when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God;and they that hear shall live.
29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
39. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify on me.
43. I am come in my father's name. and ye receive me not; If another shall come in his name, him ye will receive.

Love thy Lord thy God

Mathew 22: 35-40. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him,saying,36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37. Jesus said unto him, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND. 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the second is like unto it, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. 40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Luke 10: 25- 37. 25: And, behold a certain lawyer stood up, and tempt him, saying,Master, what shall I do to enherit eternal life? 26.He said unto him,What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27. And he answering said, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL THY MIND; AND THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. 28. And he said unto him, Thou has answered right;this do and thou shalt live. 29.But he , willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him,and and departed, leaving him half dead.
